feeling embarrassed and dissappointed at the same time knowing that the extent of me helping out is gonna be short and limited due to me not knowing my own apparent mother tongue: MANDARIN.
Have to figure out a way to be of use, otherwise its gonna be a sad attachment.
Moral of the day: LEARN CHINESE ASAP.
this is what happens when in pursuit of anglicising everything, we forget the most fundamental roots of self identity - or more in this sense, culture.
For me, what's important now is that I be a trilingual person.
